DCRO Training - Oxlow - Ann Soulsby
TSG Members Present: Ann Soulsby, Roy Rodgers, Alan Brentnall, Grant Whiteside, Alastair Gott & Ben Wright
Quite a low turnout compared to recent DCRO practices however it turned out to be really useful as this enabled the smaller groups to have hands on practice at rescue rigging and hauling. The casualty was packaged in the stretcher at the bottom of the third pitch. Whilst this was happening one group was tasked with rigging the third pitch for hauling and the other one rigged the slope and the other two pitches excluding the actual entrance. The haul went very well but we decided not to haul up the shored up part of the entrance rope as we were running out of time and there were concerns about the rope rubbing on the Armco. This turned out to be a good decision based on the amount of time it took to get everyone up the entrance pitch. A very useful exercise a nice weather on the top.
